Nellis leaders hold summit to discuss 'compatible green projects' Published April 27, 2009 By Nellis Public Affairs 99th Air Base Wing NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- More than 100 industry experts and military leaders from Nellis will gather tomorrow to discuss compatible renewable energy initiatives during the 2009 Nellis Energy Summit held at the Historic Fifth Street School in Las Vegas. Hosted by senior military members from Nellis, the summit will address a variety of issues spurred by the increased interest in green energy development and alternative energy potential in Nevada. Topics will include working with industry to determine the feasibility of compatible energy projects potentially suitable for construction in, on and around military operating areas. A team of subject matter experts from energy agencies and industry affiliates will meet with military leaders to discuss options for future partnerships and mutually beneficial development.
