Local clergymen walk in the shoes of Nellis Airmen Published Sept. 15, 2009 By Tech. Sgt. Michael R. Holzworth Nellis Public Affairs NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- The 99th Air Base Wing invited more than 20 clergymen from the Las Vegas community to attend a clergyday, Sept. 15. Organized by the 99th ABW chaplains, this clergy day was a Nellis first. The clergymen were shown various organizations on base, which included the base chapel, the Thunderbirds hangar and museum, the flight line, the Crosswinds Dining Facility and the Samek Airmen's Center. These areas were chosen for the visit because they represented the various resources on base that are commonly used by Airmen. In recognition that many Airmen attend religious services off base, the Wing Chaplain thought it would be a great idea to host a clergy day to show the local clergymen a typical day in the life of an Airmen at Nellis, said Chaplain (Capt.) Craig Nakagawa.
