Nellis to hold 2010 National POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony

A ceremony in honor of the National POW/MIA Recognition Day will be held at Nellis' Freedom Park Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m.

The ceremony will be hosted by Brig. Gen. Kevin McLaughlin, United States Air Force Warfare Center vice commander, and will include a dedication of a ceremonial wreath with names of missing in action Nevada veterans being recited and a twenty-one-gun salute.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremonies are held throughout the nation and around the world on military installations, ships at sea, schools, churches and fire stations. 

Media members interested in attending this event are asked to RSVP with Nellis Public Affairs at (702) 652-2750. Media guests will be met Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Nellis main gate, located at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Craig Road.
