The CFC, according to Col. Garland, the 99th Air Base Wing commander, "is a once-a-year opportunity to support those charities which we feel offer the most benefit to our Service, communities, and families." This year, the campaign began on Sept.15 and the goal is for the members of Nellis, Creech, and the NTTR to raise more than $250,000. The CFC is the world's largest and most successful workplace charitable drive with approximately 25,000 participating charities. The pledges Federal workers and military personnel make support eligible non-profit organizations and provide health and human services benefits throughout the world. Last year, Federal workers and military personnel pledged over $283 million, setting a new CFC record. Specifically, the members of Nellis, Creech, and the NTTR raised more than $312,000 to help many underprivileged men, women, and children. Those personnel willing to contribute donations in order to help meet this year's goal should contact their unit's CFC representative, who will provide a CFC newspaper and form. Using the newspaper, donators can choose the organization(s) that they would like to direct their contributions to. The CFC form allows the donators to choose their method of payment: a monthly payroll deduction or a one-time lump sum. The Nellis and Creech CFC Installation Action Officer this year is Capt Mario Abejero. Contact him or your unit CFC representative for further information.
