USO Grand Opening at McCarran International Airport Published Nov. 11, 2010 By Senior Airman Brett Clashman 99th Air Base Wing, Public Affairs LAS VEGAS -- Military ID card holders and their families traveling through Las Vegas, Nev. now have a place to hang their hat and rest during extended layovers. Col. Steven Garland, 99th Air Base Wing commander, along with other distinguished guests and USO executives, cut the ribbon for the grand opening of the new USO inside McCarran International Airport Nov. 11. The USO is a congressionally chartered, private, nonprofit organization which last year alone served over 5.3 million visitors in 27 different countries.
