LAS VEGAS-- Honorary 98th Operations Support Squadron Commander, Heinz Lauer, executive chef and culinary department chair of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Las Vegas; Lt. Col. Donald Borchelt, 98 OSS commander and Chief Master Sgt. Mark Darden, 98th Range Wing superintendent, pose with packaged boxes of holiday cookies at the college Dec. 2. More than 25 students and their instructors spent more than 50 hours baking, decorating and packaging more than 5,500 cookies, which were shipped to Nellis and Creech Airmen currently deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa. This is the fifth year Le Cordon Bleu has sent cookies to deployed servicemembers and the school has provided more than 40,000 cookies since starting the program. "We feel good about this program and it's the least we can do to say thank you and support the troops who are keeping us safe and free," Mr. Lauer said. (Courtesy photo)
