Nellis Air Tactics Conference marks 25th year Jan. 18. Published Jan. 11, 2011 By Rich Martinez 547th Intelligence Squadron NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- The 547th Intelligence Squadron will host the 25th annual Nellis Air Tactics Conference at the Threat Training Facility Jan. 18-21. Intelligence, operations, engineering and acquisition professionals from across the Department of Defense will attend, as well as representatives from several allied nations to include the Royal Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, and Canadian Air Force. The focus of the tactics conference is to provide participants a forum to present the latest information on adversary air weapons systems, air-to-air tactics, airborne electronic warfare and training. The conference will focus on the worldwide air and airborne electronic threat environment, tactical employment, future threat systems, and upgrades to existing systems. Lt. Col. Christian J. Cheetham, commander of the 547th IS said "The evolution of this venue continues with the return of airborne electronic warfare into our regular agenda of adversary air tactics related topics. The steady growth of this annual conference is evident, not only in the attendance of 220 registrants, but also in the briefing line-up that is expected to continue late into Friday afternoon. The focus, as with previous NATC venues, is breaking down intelligence community barriers for operators, and more recently, allied partners, to continue the tradition of enhancing our inter-operability for current and future requirements in the air tactics arena." The NATC four-day event complements the nationally recognized Integrated Air Defense Systems Forum normally held in the early summer. At the conclusion of the conference, the 547 IS will publish a summary of the briefings and discussions that will be distributed to more than 400 units worldwide.
