Pharmacy to hold medication collection Published April 19, 2011 By Capt. Francisco Boral Nellis Public Affairs NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- The National Drug Take Back Campaign will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 30 at the Base Exchange. Department of Defense beneficiaries will be able to simply walk up to the booth and dispose of their prescription and over-the-counter medications in a disposal box provided by the Drug Enforcement Administration. Only solid, oral dosage forms like tablets and capsules will be accepted. There will be no questions asked or counting medications since disposal is purely voluntary. Pharmacy members will be available for medication counseling and may also provide brochures such as Food and Drug Administration disposal recommendations and the Mail Order Pharmacy program.
