Editor's note: Each month, the legal office publishes the results of actions under the Uniform Code of Military Justice completed during the previous month. Specific individuals are not identified.

Article 15 Actions: During April 2011, Nellis and Creech commanders administered 21 non-judicial punishment actions under Article 15 of the UCMJ. The punishments imposed reflect the commander's determination of an appropriate punishment after considering the circumstances of the offense and the offender's record. A "suspended" punishment does not take effect unless the offender engages in additional misconduct or fails to satisfy the conditions of the suspension. The suspension period usually lasts for six months unless a lesser amount is specified.

A senior airman received a suspended reduction to the grade of airman first class, forfeiture of $503 pay per month for two months, 10 days extra duty, and a reprimand.

Dereliction of Duty (Underage Drinking): An airman first class received a suspended reduction to the grade of airman, forfeiture of $400 pay per month for two months, and 30 days extra duty.

Dereliction of Duty (Underage Drinking) and Drunken Operation of a Vehicle: An airman received reduction to the grade of airman basic, 30 days restriction to the confines of Nellis Air Force Base, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand.

Drunk and Disorderly: An airman basic received a forfeiture of $733 pay per month for two months, 45 days restriction to the limits of Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand.

Drunken Operation of a Vehicle: An airman first class received reduction to the grade of airman and a suspended forfeiture of $822 pay per month for 2 months.

Failure to Go: An airman received a reduction to the grade of airman basic, a suspended forfeiture of $733 pay for two months, and a reprimand.

Failure to Go and False Official Statement: A senior airman received a reduction to the grade of airman first class and 30 days extra duty.

Failure to Go (3 offenses) and Incapacitated for Duty: An airman first class received reduction to the grade of airman, forfeiture of $822 pay, and a reprimand.

Failure to Obey an Order: A senior airman received a reduction to the grade of airman first class and a reprimand.

Failure to Pay Just Debts and Fraudulent Representation of Orders: A staff sergeant received a reduction to the grade of senior airman and a reprimand.

Larceny: An airman first class received a suspended reduction to the grade of airman, a suspended forfeiture of $176 pay, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand.

Wrongful Distribution of Oxycodone: An airman first class received reduction to the grade of airman.

Wrongful Use of Marijuana: A senior airman received a reduction to the grade of airman first class and a reprimand.

Wrongful Use of Marijuana: A senior airman received a reduction to the grade of airman basic, with reduction below the grade of airman suspended, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand.

Wrongful Use of Vicodin: An airman first class received a reduction to the grade of airman basic, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand.

Wrongful Use and Distribution of Lortab: A staff sergeant received a suspended reduction to the grade of senior airman, forfeiture of $250 pay, and 30 days extra duty.

Wrongful Use of Ambien and Wrongful Distribution of Vicodin: An airman first class received a reduction to the grade of airman and a reprimand.
