U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. David Buck, U.S. Air Force Warfare Center vice commander, stands inside the weapons school July 22, 2011, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Buck oversees USAFWC's mission to shape the way our forces fight through operational testing, tactics development, and advanced training in air, space and cyberspace. Additionally, he ensures the center executes five tasks: certify weapon systems for combat; develop joint, integrated combat employment tactics for the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps; graduate advanced war-fighting experts from six unique schools; provide joint, integrated exercise venues for U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Army units; and deliver solutions to immediate combat problems and new innovations to all war-fighters. The USAFWC is organized under Air Combat Command into four wings and one named activity with more than 10,000 Airmen serving in the 53rd Wing, 57th Wing, 99th Air Base Wing, 505th Command and Control Wing and The Nevada Test and Training Range. Yannarella supports the installation command authority for Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases and the 2.9 million-acre Nevada Test and Training Range. She is responsible for all installation support, which includes providing communications, contracting, engineering, environmental, law enforcement, logistics, medical, security, services, supply, transportation and mission support, for more than 12,000 assigned personnel and 313,000 dependents, retirees and veterans. In addition, the 99th Air Base Wing supports the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center, 57th Wing, 432nd Wing and elements of the 53rd Wing, 505th Command and Control Wing and 23rd Wing. There are 171 fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft assigned to Nellis and nearly 1,500 visitors and temporary-duty personnel conduct business at Nellis daily. Nellis welcomes new senior leaders

NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- With the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center, three wing or equivalent organizations based locally, elements of three additional wings and 52 tenant units; summer is a busy time for leadership changes at Nellis AFB. In addition to numerous squadron level changes of command, the base has several new leaders at the group level and above within its ranks.

In order to introduce these new senior leaders to the base, Nellis photographers captured them in a series of environmental portraits during their first days on the job.
