The Airman and Family Readiness Center is sponsoring an annual lecture on transitioning out of the military from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 8, 2011, at the base theater on Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.

Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Dan Koslov, Military Officers Association of America deputy director of transition services, will present this lecture, which is entitled "Marketing Yourself for a Second Career."

This top-shelf presentation is a useful professional development opportunity, especially for any military personnel who are contemplating retirement or separation from the military in the next one to five years.

Additionally, this presentation serves as a tool for officers and senior enlisted members who are mentoring or counseling fellow military members who are in the process of transitioning out of the military.

The presentation is given annually at more than 150 military installations of all services worldwide and is universally praised by audiences as, "up-to-date, hard-hitting, and sharply focused- a must see." It includes comprehensive information on the retirement decision itself, employer perceptions, competition, resumes, cover letters, job search, networking, career fairs, interview techniques, salary negotiation, benefits packages, the current job market, and other relevant and important transition topics.

The presentation is geared toward officers and senior enlisted, but those of all ranks are welcome. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend as well. All who attend will receive a free copy of the lecture's companion book, also titled "Marketing Yourself for a Second Career," which is an in-depth, all-in-one resource for the transition process.

For more information or to register for this lecture, call the A&FRC at 702-652-3327.
