Nellis holds memorial Published July 25, 2012 99th Air Base Wing Public Affairs NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Nellis Air Force Base will host a memorial service today at 3 p.m. at the base chapel for Senior Airman Derek Moore. Moore, 23, was killed in a motorcycle accident July 23. He was from Bald Knob, Ark., and served as an electro-environmental systems journeyman assigned to the 757th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron since Sept., 2009. He is survived by his mother, father and sister. "Senior Airman Moore will be truly missed," said Lt. Col. William Ray, 757th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron commander. "This was a tragic accident and we send our deepest sympathies to his family, friends and fellow squadron members. Our focus now is on helping each other through the grieving process and to continue to impress upon all in the squadron that safety must always be on our minds."
