The officer and enlisted spouses' clubs, have integrated into one joint organization called the Nellis Area Spouses' Club.

The NASC is a non-profit organization open to all spouses of the military regardless of rank, branch, or status. They provide opportunities for spouses to develop supportive friendships through social and volunteering functions.

"We wanted to make the club open to all ranks to foster a sense of community between officer and enlisted spouses," said Sharon Waller, NASC parliamentarian. " We all pull together to help each other out."

The suggestion of a combined club came from the enlisted spouses who aimed to strengthen the bond of all Nellis spouses.

"The enlisted spouses' club approached the officer spouses' club with the idea of a joint venture," Waller said. "We did some research, talked to their leadership and took a vote with the board of governors and decided to [integrate the organizations.]"

With the joint club, new and existing members will have a chance to meet new spouses along with improving the community through volunteer opportunities.

"I am very excited about the new joint spouse club," said Kyrsti Wyatt, NASC spouse member. "This is a great opportunity for spouses to join together to make a large impact on Nellis, Creech and the surrounding areas through volunteer work, community support and networking with other spouses."

"I encourage all spouses to attend at least one upcoming event to check it out. I always leave events excited for the next one," she added.
