SFS changes, reminds people of base access policy Published May 15, 2013 NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- The 99th Security Forces Squadron will start conducting 100 percent identification checks from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. every day for Area 1 starting May 15. All non-Department of Defense people must obtain a pass through the visitor control center prior to accessing the base, and a sponsor must be present when the visitor pass is issued and keep the visitor in their sight and hearing range at all times. People accessing Nellis AFB are reminded that authorized DOD ID card holders, who have sponsorship capabilities, are allowed to sponsor up to 10 people and one additional vehicle for a total of two 2 vehicles. Airmen who would like to sponsor a person for more than 72 hours will have to get a long term pass through the 99th SFS Pass and ID office and fill out an exception to policy letter. Additionally, all DOD ID card holders are reminded that taxi cabs are required to be searched before begin allowed entry on to the installation. If an authorized DOD ID card holder calls for a taxi, he or she will be required to meet it at the installation's main gate.
