NEELIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- The Nellis Air Force Base Aviation 2017 Air and Space Expo kicked off Veterans Day over clear Las Vegas skies. The expo showcased numerous acts from past and present and provided the Southern Nevada community an opportunity to interact with Airmen over the weekend.
This year’s event celebrates the U.S. Air Force’s 70th birthday with the theme of Breaking Barriers through Airmen's innovation, training and a proud Air Force heritage since 1947.
The Air and Space Expo is expected to attract a crowd of more than 200,000 aircraft enthusiasts over the two-day event.
The many aerial acts and static aircraft and ground displayed during the air and space expo are snapshots of the Air Force’s 70 years of aviation history.
This event marks the end of the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron Thunderbirds 2017 air show season.
