RED FLAG-NELLIS IMAGE GALLERY

In-flight refueling keep aircraft airborne

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Bobby Jackson, 350th Air Refueling Squadron boom operator, refuels incoming aircraft during Red Flag 14-2 over the Nevada Test and Training Range March 13, 2014. Boom operators communicate with pilots in the aircraft being refueled in order to safely line up the boom during fuel exchanges. The experiences gained during Red Flag are intended to improve the chance of success for aircrews in combat. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Timothy Young)
