Welcome to the U.S. Air Force's premier Family Medicine Residency!  Residents here have it all.  We have unopposed access to Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center, a bedded facility which boasts a wide range of in-house services with a full complement of adult medicine/surgical specialties, obstetrical care, newborn care and an ICU.  Additionally, we have awesome off-site rotations at two tertiary hospitals with Level 1 trauma capabilities, a local nursing home, national parks and local community clinics.Along with our award-winning staff, we have a constructed a resident friendly program with a heavy emphasis on education, not scut-work.  We enjoy a large and friendly common resident bullpen work area with space for rotating students and an adjacent 50 person conference room and multiple small group education and procedure rooms.Throughout residency, we participate in a night float system.  This allows us to gain greater independence and autonomy with inpatient, newborn and obstetric experience.  While we boast an outstanding selection of rotations with sub-specialists, the bedrock of resident education lies in an immersive experience in managing your own panel of continuity patients.  Emphasis is also placed on developing residents as physician leaders in the patient-centered medical home.  We have a proven track record of preparing our residents to be not only proficient, but also efficient in providing high quality trusted care, anywhere.Interested in research?  This residency is a publication factory.  This is the only family medicine program in the Air Force to harbor its very own dedicated research department with full-time faculty members dedicated to turning your ideas of today into next year’s evidence.  We currently have multiple active clinical research protocols in progress.  We also have an evidence medicine rotation to teach you how to interpret clinical research and apply it to your patients.Click a link in the index below and have a look around our residency, which has received numerous awards to include:
