Chief Master Sgt. Jamie G. Wiesner Ortega is the Command Chief at the 505th Command and Control Wing, Hurlburt Field, Fla. As the senior enlisted advisor to the Commander, he provides leadership and guidance on matters impacting the morale, welfare, readiness and development of over 1,100 Airmen across 14 geographically separated units. The wing is the Air Force’s only organization dedicated to operational-level command and control. The wing serves a critical role in training and integrating command and control systems, processes, and doctrine, directly enabling warfighters to successfully execute multi-domain joint operations in complex and contested battlespaces.
Chief Wiesner enlisted in the Air Force in September of 1999. He built a diverse operational foundation as an Electrical Power Production Journeyman, supporting multiple bare base readiness exercises and real-world contingency operations with Combat Communications and Red Horse squadrons before retraining into the Tactical Air Control Party career field in 2008. As a TACP, he advanced through key tactical, instructional, and strategic leadership roles across Air Combat Command, Pacific Air Forces, Ninth Air Force, and Air Education and Training Command. His experience ranges from coordinating the battlefield as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller, and Senior Air Technician, to forging the next-generation of TACP operators as an Instructor, Evaluator, and Technical Training Superintendent, to shaping enterprise-wide Air Force Special Warfare policy and advanced combat training as a Major Command Functional Manager and Group Senior Enlisted Leader.
Chief Wiesner has extensive combat and operational experience; he has completed ten deployments in support of Operations Southern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Spartan Shield, Inherent Resolve, and Freedom’s Sentinel, providing critical air-to-ground integration and advising joint force commanders. Prior to his current position, the chief master sergeant served as the Senior Enlisted Leader, 57th Wing, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.
