Tech. Sgt. Dawn Brown has written a number of poems including "Black History pt. 2," a tribute to Black History Month. "Black History pt. 2" Black History Started as a week Back in 1926 By Carter G. Woodson In 1976, 50 years later Black History Month Was established Celebrating African Americans Celebrating their numerous contributions Celebrating their sacrifices And the lives lost Freeing slaves Black History Pays tribute to all Americans Helping to put an end To slavery Black History Includes presidents Congressmen Senators Policemen All doing their party To see our country succeed With unity Equality and Justice Black History Celebrates life Love and Accomplishments From communities Once forgotten But now thriving Off memories Of our ancestors Surviving Black History Tells stories Of survival And will Black History Tells stories Of teamwork And brotherly love Black History And American History Are one in the same A celebration of Coming together Despite our differences Black History Doesn't begin or end With February Rather it lives on In film In books In conversations In memory Black History is......
