NEVADA TEST and TRAINING RANGE, Nev. -- A"Smokie SAM" simulated surface to air missile launches from a SA-6 threat system simulator at the Tolicha Peak Electronic Combat Range Oct. 26. The small rockets are fired in the air when a threat system operator has locked on to a target. The simulate surface to air missile give pilots a visual simulation during training on the Nevada Test and Training Range.
