9/7/2012 - NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Nellis Air Force Base will host a celebration of the Air Force's 65th birthday at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev., Sept. 22.

All military and civilian employees assigned to Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases and the Nevada Test and Training Range are invited to attend the Las Vegas Air Force Ball, which will be held at the Bellagio Grand Ballroom. Military retirees are also invited to attend the night of dinner, dancing
and entertainment.

The evening's theme, "Onward to the Stars," represents the Air Force's 65
years of pride and heritage, as well as its future achievements and successes.

General Mike Hostage, Air Combat Command commander, will be the guest
speaker. Entertainment will be provided by comedian Kelly McDonald and dance
music by Harbor Lights.

"We have received outstanding support from corporate sponsors and the Las
Vegas community to put on a first-class event this year," said Major Walter
Heathcoat, 99th Force Support Squadron operations officer and this year's
Las Vegas Air Force Ball project officer. "Thanks to the community's
generosity we will have tiered ticket pricing to make the ball affordable
for everyone to attend."

The tiered ticket prices for the event are listed below:
Airmen (E1-E4/WG/GS 1-4): $35
NCO (E5-E7/WG/GS 5): $45
SNCO (E7-E9): $55

Childcare will be available to those attending the ball because the Nellis
