8/1/2011 - NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE Nev.  -- Representatives from Nellis and Regis University participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony that marks the official opening of the new Nellis National Test Center July 28, 2011, Building 20, room 300.

Alice Patton, 99th Force Support Squadron, chief of education and training, and Julie Swan, 99 FSS force development flight chief, partnered with Regis University to bring an on-base National Test Center to Nellis.

The test center will allow eligible military and civilian members to receive college credit by earning qualifying scores on the college-level examination program computer-based tests and the DANTES subject standardized tests. These computerized versions allow test-takers access to all 35 CLEP and 37 DSST examinations, which include English composition, literature, foreign languages, history, social sciences, mathematics, business, humanities, physical science and more, with the exception of the principles of public speaking test. Also, the computerized CLEP and DSST examinations provide instant unofficial score results to the test-takers upon completion of the test.

The following people are eligible to use the Nellis National Test Center:
-Military members, to include members of reserve components and Coast Guard personnel
-Military spouses and civilian employees of Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, Army National Guard, Army Reserve, and Coast Guard (active duty and reserve)
-Department of Defense acquisition workforce personnel, but only for the following test: Principles of Microeconomic, Macroeconomics and Marketing
-Retirees, civil service employees, spouses and family members of other military personnel are eligible if they are enrolled in an on-base education program, but they must pay the registration fee and the cost of the test.

The Nellis National Test Center is located on the third floor of the 99 FSS building (Building 20) in room 300.

Currently, the center is conducting tests sessions at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The test center can accommodate 14 examinees per test session. To register for a test, contact the test proctor at nellisafb@regis.edu.
