Chief Master Sergeant Mark T. Darden is the 98th Range Wing Superintendent, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. He is responsible for guiding the wing, group and squadron commanders on all enlisted matters, ensuring the quality force standards of more than 800 selectively manned military/civilian/contractor personnel situated throughout six remotely separated locations. In addition, he provides direct support for the U.S. Air Force's second and third-largest service contracts supporting test, training and tactics development for Combat Air Forces and multi-service warfighters in the USAF's premier integrated battlespace on the 2.9 million-acre Nevada Test and Training Range.

Chief Darden graduated from basic training in 1983 and attended metal fabrication technical training at Sheppard AFB, Texas. He has served in many capacities such as project planner, simplified acquisition of engineer requirements superintendent, maintenance and squadron superintendent, group chief of enlisted matters and has an extensive background in bare-base set-up and contingency operations. He has deployed in support of Operations SOTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM.
