Article's 15 for month of May Published June 20, 2007 NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- During May 2007, Nellis commanders administered 19 non-judicial punishment actions under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The punishments imposed reflect the commander's determination of an appropriate punishment after considering the circumstances of the offense and the offender's record. A "suspended" punishment does not take effect unless the offender engages in additional misconduct or fails to satisfy the conditions of the suspension. The suspension period usually lasts for six months unless otherwise noted. Larceny, non-mil $500 or less --- An airman first class received a suspended reduction to the rank of airman, 30 days additional duty, forfeitures of $471 per month for two months Wrongful appropriation over $500 --- A staff sergeant received a reduction to the rank of senior airman, 30 days additional duty, and a reprimand. Failure to obey a general order; misuse of Government travel card--- A technical sergeant received a suspended reduction to the rank to staff sergeant, 21 days additional duty, and a reprimand. Drunken driving: injury --- A staff sergeant received a suspended reduction to the rank of senior airman, 45 days additional duty and suspended forfeiture of $1,031 pay per month for two month. Firearm, discharging/negligence--- A senior airman received a reprimand. Dereliction of duty, willful misuse of Government travel card and violation of other general order --- A senior airman received a reduction to the rank of airman first class, 30 days additional duty and a reprimand. False official statement --- An airman first class received a suspended reduction to the rank of airman, 10 days additional duty, a reprimand and suspended forfeitures of $864 pay per month for two months. Possess Schedule I, II or III drugs --- A senior airman received a suspended reduction to the rank of airman first class, 21 days additional duty and forfeitures of $200 pay per month for two months. False or unauthorized pass/permit/ID offenses: wrongful sale, gift, etc. --- A senior airman received a suspended reduction to the rank of airman first class, 45 days additional duty and a reprimand. Possess Schedule I, II, or III drugs --- An airman first class received a reduction to the rank of airman and suspended forfeitures of $500 pay per month for one month. Drunken driving --- A senior airman received a reduction to the rank of airman first class and forfeitures of $403 pay per month for two months. Fail to obey lawful order --- A senior airman received a reduction to the rank of airman, a suspended reduction to the rank of airman basic, 45 days additional duty, 60 days restriction to Nellis Air Force Base and suspended forfeitures of $864 pay per month for two months. Misbehavior of sentinel, other: leaving post without proper relief --- An airman first class received a suspended reduction to the rank of airman and 14 days additional duty. Dereliction of duty, neglect: failure to return to work after scheduled appointment & failure to obey lawful order, wearing tongue ring on base --- An airman first class received a suspended reduction to the rank of airman, 30 days additional duty, a reprimand and suspended forfeitures of $729 pay per month for two months. Drunken driving --- An airman first class received a reduction to the rank of airman and 30 days additional duty. Fail to obey lawful order: allowed unauthorized personnel on base & make false official statement --- An airman first class received a reduction to the rank of airman, 14 days additional duty, forfeitures of $340 pay per month for one month and a reprimand.
