Holloman Air Force Base recently introduced the Hollamo Express, a unique bus service exclusive to Holloman’s military service members and dependents. Airmen can use the bus service as transport to a list of drop-off locations in the city of Alamogordo, free of charge.

At present, the Hollamo Express runs an eight-stop route, from 5 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. As interest in the bus service expands, the express will provide round-trip transportation to a variety of local attractions such as sporting events, live music concerts, carnivals and the Otero County Fair.

"This is a great initiative that will bring our community even closer together and reinforce our commitment to one another,” said Chief Master Sgt. Barrington Bartlett, 49th Wing command chief.

The bus offers several amenities to include free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, easy-to-read stop info, bottled water and an app that displays the vehicle’s location in real time.

Overall, the Hollamo Express is a great resource for Airmen wishing to visit the local area, especially for those who do not own a vehicle.

“This initiative benefits our Airmen and makes it easier for them to experience the local fare,” said Col. Houston Cantwell, 49th Wing commander. “I hope they will seize this opportunity and see what the community has to offer!”
